Saturday evening the streets of Nicosia welcomed the Cyprus Pride Parade, organized by Accept LGBTI Cyprus.
Hundreds of humans of all ages, nations, colors and orientations, and many pets, joined the march. The parade started from the Municipal Park (Eirini’s Park), reached the Parliament and went back to the park. The parade was followed by performers and DJs.
Besides private sponsors and supporters, the pride had the patronage of the Republic of Cyprus and the Municipality of Nicosia. The event was also supported by the Representation of the European Commission and the European Parliament in Cyprus, the High Commission of the United Kingdom, the High Commission of Australia and the Embassies of Sweden and the Netherlands.
The pride took place few days after the criminalization of all conversion therapies in the Republic.
The next appointment is on the 17th of June for the bicommunal march “United by Pride”.
