Promosse l'istruzione e contribu\u00ec allo sviluppo della comunit\u00e0 cristiana di Cipro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Purtroppo la sua storia non fin\u00ec bene: fu decapitato a Istanbul nel 1809, in seguito alla presentazione di un esposto contro di lui al sultano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La casa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La casa di Hadjigeorgakis \u00e8 ancora in piedi e si trova nella citt\u00e0 vecchia di Nicosia, vicino al palazzo arcivescovile.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"http:\/\/anislandeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Living-room-house-of-Hadjigeorgakis-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anislandeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Living-room-house-of-Hadjigeorgakis-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/anislandeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Living-room-house-of-Hadjigeorgakis-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anislandeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Living-room-house-of-Hadjigeorgakis-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/anislandeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Living-room-house-of-Hadjigeorgakis-1536x1152.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>La sala d'ingresso<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>L'edificio a due piani ha la forma della lettera greca Pi, con balconi coperti (chiamati chioschi) che si affacciano sulla strada, e un giardino interno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tra tutti i lussi che Hadjigeorgakis possedeva, c'\u00e8 anche un hammam (bagno turco) di tre stanze. Quanto era fortunato ad avere delle sale da bagno private nel suo giardino!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il piano superiore dell'edificio ospita una sala d'ingresso e le stanze in cui viveva la famiglia.
